WE ARE THE TARGET AUDIENCE...
HotLeaf was founded by two women proud to call themselves Huntresses and willing to point out that the market seems to be missing something for this exact consumer segment. Today, we're innovating across a wide range of opportunities to enhance camo print design and technology, but however much we expand our line of sight, our foundation will always remain that we are a company started by women with a strong focus on women who love the sport of hunting.
Meet our team and get to know us. We're beyond accessible so please don't hesitate in contacting us with interests, inquiries, ideas and more. We'd love to hear from you.
FOUNDER, USAF RESERVIST
The birth of HotLeaf happened a few years ago when Rebecca started bowhunting. “I went into the stores, just like everyone else, to buy equipment and look for high performance clothing to wear. I was seriously unimpressed with the selection of apparel for female hunters,” recalls Rebecca. Having served in the Air Force as active duty for 7-years, and now on Reserve status, Rebecca knows about how camo should function. She wore it day in and day out as a highly trained mechanic on the flight line at Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri. “Serving in the military, I wore camo every day during periods of my life, which I loved, and I experienced firsthand what it was like to wear unisex designs from the perspective of a woman. I am incredibly proud to wear the Air Force uniform, but during my free time, I’d like to wear comfortable clothes that make me feel like a woman and represent who I am in daily life as an active mom with recreational interests.” She combined her personal experience in the military with knowledge of how deer perceive color to create the concept of HotLeaf. She explains, "ungulates – deer, elk, antelope, any animal with a hoof – are red and green color blind. To them, warm hot colors in the mix show up as muted grays. There's an opportunity to revamp camo prints without comprimising stealth properties." Rebecca is presently attending the University of Missouri in Columbia and majoring Textile and Apparel Management, with a minor in Business. Kaeley is one of the co-founders of HotLeaf Camo. She's 22-yrs old and resides in Arlington,TX with her husband and English Bulldog, Ruger. She's active in sports, is currently a coach for a female soccer team and is a high school teacher. Kaeley's a key part of the inspiration for HotLeaf - she started hunting at age 15. As an avid athlete, she always played soccer, volleyball and ran track, and couldn’t find the time to take up yet another hobby until a few years ago. Kaeley's father and two brothers are avid outdoorsmen, so she's been exposed to the sport of hunting since birth and spent year after year on the ranch with her family. At the age of 15, she shot her first deer. In her words, "fortunately, I had a little luck and it just happened to be a 164-inch, 12-point. I established bragging rights because it still holds a record of the largest deer in my family. I was hooked from that day forward. I met my husband 3-years ago and he influenced me to take up bow hunting. Bow hunting provides an exhilaration that is unparalleled." After a couple of years immersed in the sport, Kaeley realized how dissatisfied she was with the selection and designs of women’s camo clothing. She decided to work on her own line of clothing made for women who love to hunt and/or just love the outdoors. In October of 2013, while working on a line of clothing called Princess Hunter, she was introduced to the proprietary pattern of HotLeaf Camo and ... "fell in love. I knew immediately I wanted to be a part of this new company's story. Hopefully, you'll love the HotLeaf line as much as I do!"
